PERMON finds new users

The web pages of the PERMON software library were updated at the end of October. The Department of applied mathematics and computer science together with the VSB - Technical University of Ostrava develops this library since 2018. The Los Alamos National Laboratory, Argonne National Laboratory, and Oak Ridge National Laboratory from the USA belong among the world famous users employing this library. In the Czech Republic, CTU in Prague uses this software for its applications.

The PERMON software (open-source) is a set of solvers designed for large-scale quadratic programming problems combined with domain decomposition and machine learning methods. The library uses and extends the capabilities of the PETSc framework. The software finds the applications in contact problems related to mechanics or classification problems solved by SVM methods.

The name PERMON stands for Parallel, Efficient, Robust, Modular, Object Oriented and Numerical software. This word refers to a small dwarf as well. It lives underground and helps mineworkers.
