Project in the Transfera Technology Day final!

The Transfera Technology Day event is organized by the Transfera.cz platform with support of the CzechInvest agency and other partners. Its objective is to connect Czech science and technology resources with the business community and help create suitable conditions for mutual cooperation. Due to this event, research organizations can present their projects to investment partners evaluating their commercial potential and project readiness.

This year, 14 institutions have submitted 34 projects to the competition. The investment evaluators include representatives from i&i Prague, Busyman, Lighthouse Ventures or the Neuron Endowment Fund. One of the competitors is the Institute of Geonics of the Czech Academy of Sciences, submitting the Pulsating high speed water jet project.

The pulsating water jet allows for a several-fold reduction of the working water pressure while maintaining disintegration capabilities comparable to those of commonly used continuous water jets. The essence of a pulsed waterjet is the cyclic loading of the material to be breached by the impact of water clusters, which are created by the transformation of high frequency pressure pulsations in a high pressure system after the passage of a water jet through the nozzle. In addition to increasing the efficiency of the disintegration process, a reduction in acquisition and operating costs can be expected.

This project advanced to the final round that will take place on October 21, 2021 in the National Library of Technology in Prague.

Congratulations to the research team and good luck in the final round!
